Benji's Battle is based on my own experiences growing up diagnosed with ADHD, but the main inspiration was my younger brother, John, who has also been diagnosed with ADHD. As he fought his way through the fourth grade, I realized that the rest of my family really couldn't see where his head was. They didn't understand how hard he really was trying; the miscommunication was painful and disheartening for everyone in the house. This short was made for people without ADHD, to give a visual metaphor for different problems that ADHD can pose.
